Frankie Dean Benton MONROE - Frankie Dean Benton, 72, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013. He was born in Union County, NC on April 16, 1941, son of the late George Frank and Emma Lorraine McRorie Benton. Frankie retired as a lieutenant, after 30 years of service with the Monroe Police Department. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM in First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Frankie is survived by his wife, Linda Aycoth Benton, sons, Michael Dean Benton of Waxhaw and Randy Benton of Monroe, one granddaughter, Rebecca Melton and husband Dustin and three great-grandchildren, Griffin, Roxie and Keegan Melton. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
