Franklin Legrand Drew

Mr. Franklin (Frank) Legrand Drew, 90 went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 22, 2020. Frank was born February 27, 1930 in Marion County, S.C. son to the late Thomas and Nora Lee Drew. He is also preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Taylor Drew. Frank grew up in Lumberton, N. C. and it was there that he met and married the love of his life, Geraldine Taylor. They were happily married for 71 years. He was her loving caregiver the final eight years of her life until she passed gently into her eternal heavenly home on October 18, 2019. Frank would want you to know that his life truly began when he was about the age of 32, when he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. He then started seeking God’s direction and plan for his life which led him to share God’s Word with others (on answering machine messages or in person). He also started several successful businesses, and enjoyed traveling. He learned the art of woodworking from his friend, Jimmy and shared his handmade gifts with those he loved. Frank loved the challenges of Sudoku puzzles, reading his Bible daily, and visiting with his family and friends in person and by phone. He was a long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Due to COVID-19 concerns for safety, the family invites friends to an extended visitation at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112 on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 1PM until 4PM. The family invites friends to celebrate Frank’s life at a graveside service on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery at 2301 N. Rocky River Road, Monroe, N.C. with Reverend Brad Kelley officiating. Frank is survived by daughters, Frankie Ellise and husband, Freddy and Teresa Drew. Grandchildren Frederic and wife, Laurie, Jennifer Richardson and husband, Brad and Christy Corum. Six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren on Teresa’s side along with his only surviving sister, Edna and numerous nieces and nephews.
