Franklin Victory

Franklin Victory Jr., aka Pap, passed away, surrounded by his family, Thursday, July 18, 2019 after a courageous battle against lymphoma. He was born on December 4, 1958 to the late Frank Victory and Peggy Hammonds Victory. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Victory. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at New Salem Baptist Church, 2915 Goldmine Rd, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00am until 12:15pm. Pap is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Vickie Pressley Victory, children, Danielle Massey (John), and Jason Victory (Shaina); sister, Loretta Bowers, grandchildren, Carson Massey, Avery Rae Massey, Willow Victory, and Hudson Victory; brother-in-law, Steve Pressley, sister-in-law, Cindy Victory, and father and mother-in- law, Ervin and Shirley Pressley. Among many things, Pap, was a thirty-year lymphoma survivor. He fought courageously every day just so he could have more time with his family that he loved so dearly. In the days that he spent with his family and friends he did many things; he was a member of New Salem Baptist Church where he served as not only the treasurer, but also as a deacon. He worked with the youth of the church and cooked the meals for vacation bible school. Pap also worked two jobs, one in the family drywall business (Pressley Drywall), and the other as an Appraisal Researcher for Affordable Housing. When he wasn’t working hard at the church or his two jobs, Pap, was not only an honorary black-belt in judo at CAJA, but he was a knife enthusiast. Every year he would look forward to being able to attend the knife show at Blade in Atlanta, Ga.
