Mr. George Bundy Hill, 93, of Monroe, surrounded by his loving family went home to be with his Lord on June 16, 2015 after a long illness. Mr. Hill was born on January 23, 1922 to the late Bundy Vance and Sarah “Sally” Frances Tomberlin Hill. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Roanoke Baptist Church, Ridge Rd. in Monroe where he was the oldest member. Officiating will be Missionary David Gordon, Pastor Dac Croasmun and Dr. Tim Cruse. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Daisy Tucker Hill. He leaves behind five children, Phyllis Griffin and husband Keith of Marshville, Lynda Gordon and husband David of Quebec, Canada, Peggy Baucom and husband Ted of Monroe, Ricky Hill and wife, Donna of Monroe and Dennis Hill and wife Kim of Concord. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Regina Griffin King and husband Tony of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Todd Baucom and wife Stephanie of Sylva, Brian Griffin of Marshville, Matthew Gordon and wife Michelle of Quebec, Canada, Chris Hill and wife Rebecca, Marla Baucom Williams and husband Jeremy, Jeremy Hill and wife Crystal, all of Monroe and Josh Beaver of Concord. Mr. Hill also leaves 12 great grandchildren, Brett Baucom, Chris Turpin, Ashton, Krystal, Jonathan, Lydia and Kaylee Gordon, Savana King, Anna Williams, and Riley, Brooklyn and Gavin Hill. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 or the David and Lynda Gordon Mission Fund in care of All Nations Baptist Missions, PO Box 889 Monroe, NC 28111. The family would also like to say a special thank you to Rebecca Hill for the care that she gave their dad during his illness. Words cannot express what the rest of the family feels for this precious granddaughter-in-law for the loving care that she gave to their dad.
