Gary K. Barr

Gary K. Barr, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 surrounded by his loving family and lifelong friends. He was the son of the late Kenneth Barr and Alma Fraley Barr. Also preceding him in death is a son, Gary Barr, Jr.; brothers, Larry Barr, Chuck Barr and sisters, Linda Peloquin and Deanna Pelton. Funeral services for Gary will be held 9:00AM, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Gary had many interests in his life, including his love of fishing and anything pertaining to water. He had a great love of music that was passed on to his son, Tim. He also loved cooking and was known for his annual “pig pickins” even though he was not fond of barbeque. Gary was very honored to serve in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. But most of all, he loved sharing time with his family and friends. Gary is survived by his son, Tim Barr, wife Kim; brother, Danny Barr of Chester, SC; two grandchildren, Hannah Barr, affectionately known as Chiquita and Gavin Barr, lovingly known as Bubba. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
