Gary Roger Greene

Gary Roger Greene, 66, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018. He was born April 28, 1952, in Rochester, NY, to Roger and Lillian Greene. Gary graduated from the University of Rochester and the Rochester Institute of Technology and began his career in electrical engineering at Bausch & Lomb in New York state. He moved to the Charlotte area in 1997 to continue his career with the CEM Corporation in Matthews, from which he retired a month previous. He was an active member of the local ham radio community, going by the call sign W2ZV, and his radio hobby brought him many friends and much joy. He was preceded in death by his father Roger and his brother Darrell, and survived by his mother Lillian, his wife of 38 years Susan Greene, and their two daughters, Elizabeth Greene and Jodie Mannel. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112, to be followed by visitation hours from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM.
