Gary Wayne Stephens Sr., 73, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC on October 7, 1952, son to the late Celo Donnell Stephens and Dorothy Kirby Stephens. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Stephens.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gary is survived by his son, Gary Stephens Jr., two daughters, Crystal Stephens (Brian Whitmire), Marie Clagg, 11 grandchildren, Clarissa Mattern, Chelsea Mattern, Liam Whitmire, Kye Stephens, Damon Stephens, Sebastian Stephen, Flower Stephens, Shon Wallace, Alan Vanhoose, Samatha Adams, Brittany Vanhoose, 5 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Keith Stephens.
