Gayle Elaine Buchanan

The Lord finished his work with our Matriarch, Elaine Buchanan and took her home Wednesday, December 11th shortly after 10pm. Peacefully she slipped away, to awaken in Heaven never to need sleep again. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Bickett & Annie Bass, her 1st born, Sharon Delaine and her amazing brother Jarrett Bass. A Memorial service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Seacrest Grove Baptist, 4505 Weddington Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Elaine’s Life Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32 Elaine "MawMaw" Buchanan is survived by her husband, Timothy "Papa'T" Buchanan; sister Jeanie Foxx; children Amiee' (John) Kenney, Scott Buchanan, and Amorette (Robert) Lilley; grandchildren Danielle (Brian) Murphy, Kathryn Kenney, Jessica (Chris) Sage, Julia (Forrest) Rorie, Chelsea Buchanan, Lacey (Cole) Bryant, Caitlyn (Michael) Brown, Nick (Sara) Lilley, Alyssa Lilley; great-grandchildren Cameron Kenney, Caroline Murphy, Gideon and Evelyn Sage. She was truly a daughter of God because she was a follower of Christ and blessed with the Holy Spirit. God’s Kingdom has advanced because of her love, kindness, empathy, forgiveness, peace and devotion to Christ. She will forever be remembered as someone who had a love for her family, others, animals and books. We have been extremely blessed to have her in our lives and we rejoice knowing that she is finally home at last.
