Geneva Courtney Moore, 94, of Monroe, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018. She was born April 5, 1924 in Union County, a daughter of the late Oren Butler and Kizzy Belle Courtney. He is also preceded in death by her husband, James Moses Buddy Moore. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be held from the graveside 11AM Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Lakeland Memorial Park with the Rev. Caroll Anthony officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 10:45AM Wednesday at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Mrs. Moore is survived by three daughters, Aileen Kirkley and her husband Cecil of Pageland, SC, Diane Helms and her husband Cecil of Monroe, Shelia Helms of Monroe, a son, Ben Moore of Monroe, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
