George C. Funderburk

Dateline: Monroe, NC George C. Funderburk, Jr., 75, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006. He was born in Union County, NC on June 16, 1931 son of the late George C. and Cleo Horne Funderburk. Mr. Funderburk was a farmer and welder. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Mullis and a son-in-law, Charles Gulledge. Mr. Funderburk is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Smith Funderburk, daughters, Beverly Gulledge, Karen Greene and husband Rick, all of Monroe, sisters, Frances Baker of Marshville, Myrtle Rogers of China Grove, grandchildren, Bryan McManus and wife Michelle of Raleigh, Nicholas Gulledge and wife Angela of Monroe and one great grandchild, Nichole Gulledge. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe.
