George Heath McWhorter, 78, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. He was born April 6, 1936, son of the late William Samuel and Willie Deese McWhorter. A graveside service was held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at McWhorter Cemetery at 2:00 PM. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen G. McWhorter, daughters, Lynn McClain and husband Ike and Janet Sellers and husband Bill, all of Waxhaw; brothers, Franklin and Ricky McWhorter, both of Waxhaw; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
