Ginger Phifer Counts

Ginger Phifer Counts, 56, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, November 10, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Ginger was born on September 16, 1965 in Union County, daughter of Robert Dean Phifer and Phyllis Mangum Phifer. She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Phifer on October 18, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Hopewell Baptist Church Legacy Campus, 420 Hopewell Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. She is survived by her loving husband of over 29 years, Michael Counts, daughter, Marissa Counts, son, Dillan Counts, her father, Robert Dean Phifer of Wingate, sister, Tammy Phifer Purser (Travis Purser), niece, Makenzi Purser and nephew, Bayden Purser. Her children, Marissa and Dillan are her pride and joy. Being their mother was her greatest reward in life. Ginger was a beloved preschool teacher at First Presbyterian Church where she touched the lives of many children as she taught them about Jesus. Ginger loved everyone with an unconditional love and her family will continue to carry this love forward.
