Gladys Holmes Davis

Monroe, NC Gladys Holmes Davis, 84, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006. She was born in Union County, NC on May 8, 1922 daughter of the late Otis and Ora Faye Ross Holmes. Mrs. Davis loved everyone. She called family members and friends everyday to see if they were OK. She especially loved children. She always would ask the doctors and nurses if they had children. Mrs. Davis will be greatly missed in many ways. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 6:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private. She is survived by her husband, W. Heath Davis, daughter, Wanda Tomberlin and husband Jimmy, grandchildren, Christie Canavaciol and husband Jimmy and Tommy Tomberlin, all of Monroe. The family will receive friends Thursday evening following the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
