Glenda Carpenter Steele, 74, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021. She was born July 12, 1946 in Union County, daughter of the late Joe Julian Carpenter and Elizabeth Trull Carpenter. Funeral services will be held from the graveside 1:00PM Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Tirzah Presbyterian Cemetery 7507 Tirzah Church Road Waxhaw, NC 28173 with Rev. John Gerstenmier officiating. Visitation will follow at the gravesite. Glenda retired from the Union County Public School System after a thirty two year career as a French teacher at Parkwood High School. She is a member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church. However, her greatest love was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Glenda is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Thomas Howey Steele; 2 sons Brad Steele and wife Amanda of Monroe, NC, Jared Steele (Amy Green) of Indian Trail, NC; a sister Dianne Carpenter Haynes, husband, Larry of Indian Land, SC; grandchildren, Taylyn Mae Steele and Levi Thomas Steele.
