Mr. Harold Lee Noles, 89, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019. He was born in Mecklenburg County on May 28, 1929 son to the late Grady Lee and Edna Bates Parrish Noles. Harold grew up in Stallings and attended school in Indian Trail. He proudly served his country in the Army for two years during the Korean War (’51-’53) and continued to serve in the Army Reserves (’54-’56). Harold was married to Iva Walkup Noles of Waxhaw for 61 years until her passing in 2015. They truly lived out their marriage vows. Harold was a lifelong member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He loved and enjoyed working with the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and was very active with this organization for many years. Harold and Iva had a wide circle of friends and they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Harold worked for Springs Industries for more than 40 years as a machine operator and in Quality Control. He also worked for McEwen Funeral Services in Monroe, NC for over 30 years. Harold especially loved his family and they loved him in return. You will be remembered by all of us. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Tirzah Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives following the service in the church fellowship hall. Mr. Noles is survived by his daughter, Susan Noles Wiley and husband Ed Wiley of Moncks Corner, SC.; a grandson, Christopher Lee Wiley and wife Sara Wiley; and great-grandson, Lucas Jackson Wiley of St. Louis, MO. He is survived by his brother, Gary Jackson Noles and wife Nancy Noles and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
