Harold Norman Smith Jr., 66, of Albemarle, NC passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born in Union County, NC on August 28, 1959, son to the late Harold Norman Smith and Catherine Simmons Smith. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Alyssa Smith and a sister, Karen Hinkle.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, September 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service.

Norman proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corp for four years; he was a dedicated servant to his communities with employment of the City of Monroe Police Department as well as the Stanly County Sheriffs Department for a total of 28 years until his retirement as Sgt. Detective with the Stanly County Sheriffs Department. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors.

Norman is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie McLemore Smith, son, Chad Smith (Randi), his two sisters, Catherine Jones and Kay Eudy, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
