Harry Vann Boone

Harry Vann Boone, 76, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on March 2, 1937 son of the late George and Esther Davis Boone. Harry was a US Army veteran, retired Army Reserve and retired mail carrier with the US Postal Service. He was a graduate of Benton Heights High School and a member of Benton Heights Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Harry is survived by his wife, Carol P. Boone, daughter, Melissa Stroup and husband Paul of Indian Trail, grandsons, Harrison and Andrew Stroup, step-daughters, Rebecca Crisp of Pageland, SC and Melissa Thomas of Hartsville, SC, 2 step-grandchildren and 3 step- great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
