Hazel Jean (Melton) Mcinnis

Hazel Jean Melton McInnis, 78, of Monroe, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Jean was born March 26, 1940 in Kannapolis, N.C. to Curtis W. Melton and Ida Broome Melton. She completed her public working career after retiring from Harris Teeter Corporate Offices in Matthews, NC. She was a long-time member of New Salem Baptist Church where she cherished her time as a Sunday School teacher. Jean was predeceased in death by her parents and her husband, James H. McInnis. Surviving are his son, Rick McInnis (Vicky) of Monroe; grandchildren, Daniel S. McInnis (Jennifer) of Burlington, NC, Erica G. Mullins (Andrew) of Haughton, LA, Rebecca F. Barr (Bobby) of Asheboro, NC; great-grandchildren, Quinn McInnis, Charlie Barr, Judah McInnis and the newest McInnis addition due June 23. Visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church, 2915 Goldmine Rd., Monroe, NC with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.
