Helen M. Griffin

Helen M. Griffin, 91, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her savior on February 24, 2023. She was born November 1, 1931 in Union County, a daughter of the late William Rayford and Lillie Broome McCain. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years , David C. Griffin in 2017.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112 with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:45 PM before the service at the funeral home.

Helen is survived by three daughters, Donna Tolbert of Lancaster, SC, Terry Starnes (Mickey) of Peachland, Melissa Griffin of Wingate. Three grandchildren, Cindy Russell Marty), Tamala Ryte, Jason Tolbert (Lindsey), six great-grandchildren, Hannah Ryte, Logan Russell (Emilie), Bradley Ryte, Austin Ryte (Faith), Lindsey Russell and Cooper Tolbert. Extended family, Sherry Plattenburger, Shaun and Courtney Baker, Lawson and Cannon, Madison Rogers and Devin Helms.

She enjoyed writing poetry and had one poem published. In her younger days she enjoyed cooking for her family on the holidays and working in her flowers and garden.

The family wants to give special thanks and love to all the employees at White Oak Manor in Waxhaw for the love and care for our mother. A special thanks to Hospice and Palliative care, Charlotte

Mom was always happy to tell everyone that Jesus saved her soul and forgave her of her sins.
