Helen Ruth (Simpson) Rushing

Helen Ruth Rushing, 75, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017. She was born November 28, 1941 in Union County, a daughter of the late John Culpepper and Alma Faye Baucom Simpson. She is preceded in death by her husband James Lowell Rushing. She was an example of unconditional love to all being a caregiver for family and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Love Baptist Church 707 Deese Road Monroe, NC with the Rev. Don Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, September 25, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC. Mrs. Rushing is survived by a son, David L. Rushing and his wife Ann of Mt. Gilead, a daughter Darlene Swinson of Monroe, a brother Marvin Simpson and his wife Patty of Monroe, a sister Betty Chapman and her husband Danny of Marshville, five grandchildren, Devane Rushing, Josh Swinson, D.J. Rushing, West Hasty, Devin Hasty, three great grandchildren, Tristen Swinson, Alivia Swinson and Trevor Rushing. Gordon Funeral Service Crematory is caring for the Rushing family.
