Helen Howey Walden, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015. She was born in Union County, NC on April 19, 1928 daughter of the late Otho Singleton and Ona Lee Price Howey. Mrs. Walden was a member of Lee Park Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a retired accounting clerk with Producers Co-op, also worked for the Union County Health Dept. and the Union County Tax Dept. Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Ney Walden. She is survived by sons, Michael Walden and wife Carol and Donnie Walden and wife Patsy, of Monroe, brothers, Marvin Howey of Monroe, Olin Howey of Charlotte, sister, Nancy Ogburn of Charlotte, grandchildren, Jason and wife Denise of Monroe, Matt of Indian Trail and Garrett and wife Stefanie of Springe, Germany. The family will receive friends Friday, January 23, 2015 from 10:00 until 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
