Homer Gene Howard

Homer Gene Howard, 77, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at home peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Union County, NC on February 8, 1931 son of the late Jesse Earl and Mary Crisco Howard. Mr. Howard was a U S Navy veteran and a Mason, member of Masonic Lodge-Monroe #244. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia L. Howard, a sister, Patricia Griffin and brothers, Wade and Leonard Howard. Mr. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Hill Howard, daughter, Susan H. Easley of Monroe, brothers, Melvin Howard and wife Katherine of Marshville, Gary Howard and wife Helen of Wingate, Keith Howard and wife Pam of New Salem and Charles Howard and wife Patricia of Monroe, sisters, Polly Robinson of Paulding, Ohio and Viola Smith and husband Jay of Oakboro, granddaughters, Hillary Howard, Heather and Holly Wilkins, all of Monroe, great grandsons and fishing buddies, Colby Howard, Christian Carvalho and Chandler Wilkins and great granddaughter, Paw Paw’s girl, Caitlyn Howard. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:45 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
