Hoover Collins, 89, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1928, son of the late Joseph Samuel and Allie Horne Collins. He was preceded in death by his first wife Johnnie Courtney Collins and several sisters and brothers. Mr. Collins was an Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Eaton/Yale Security Products and was a member of Lee Park Baptist Church. He was a compassionate Christian soul who truly loved helping others. Mr. Collins is survived by his wife Ginny Crook Collins and his daughter Angela Collins of Washington, DC. and many special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday January 29 from 12:00 - 1:30 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC and a 2:00 PM graveside service at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC will follow.
