Howard Earl Johnson, Sr., 79, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. He was born August 23, 1936 in Harnett County, son of the late John and Pearl L. Johnson. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM in Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Highway, Monroe, NC 28110, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Judy O. Johnson; children, Howard Johnson, Jr. (Luray) of Waxhaw, Dawn J. Hinkel (Michael) of Monroe, Eric Purser (Annette) of Monroe, Tammy Maske (Mark) of Monroe, predeceased by Scott Purser of Monroe; grandchildren, Emerald, Matthew, Joshua and Jacob Johnson, Valeray Jones, Tyler, Matthew and Kyle Maske and Cody, Austin, Hunter, Jesse and Justin Purser.
