Ira Sidney “Sid” Handsel, 84, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was born in Union County, October 18, 1930 son of the late Mulba and Effie Coulbourne Handsel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit prior to the service starting at 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Becky Smith Handsel, three sons Hayden Handsel wife Beth of Waxhaw, Phil Handsel wife Deanna Burns Handsel of Matthews, and Scott Handsel wife Michele of Monroe, a brother LeRoy Handsel wife Marilyn of Mt.
