Ira Reynolds Peninger

Ira Reynolds Peninger, 81, of Waxhaw, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was born May 10, 1935, in Charlotte, NC to the late George Bonner and Lillian Hannah Peninger. Mr. Peninger was a 1953 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force, and retired from McLeod Equipment Company, where he was in sales. He was a member of Mineral Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Bonner Peninger and his sister, Sarah Peninger Goebel. Mr. Peninger is survived by his wife, Anne Fendley Peninger, two daughters, Cindy Peninger Morris and husband, Max, of Charlotte, and Christy Peninger Russell and husband, John, of Midland, and three grandchildren, Heather Nicole Morris of Charlotte, Joshua Meredith Morris of Charlotte, and John Christian Russell of Midland. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church, 5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd, Monroe, NC 28112.
