Jack Boyd Helms, 66, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. He was born in Union County October 1, 1946, son of the late Tom Helms, Jr. and Ruth Bass Helms. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Wolf Pond Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. Helms is survived by his wife, Betty Loyd Helms; sons, John Tommy Helms and wife Tammy and Tony Helms, both of Monroe; brother, Donnie Helms and wife Pat of Monroe; sisters-in-law, John and Brenda Bass, Dennis and Johnnie Funderburk and Richard and Wanda Laton; grandchildren, Jamil Hudson, Donald Hudson and wife Danielle, Katie Ott and husband Matt and Colton Helms; great-grandchild, Aiden Ott, and numerous nieces and nephews.
