Jacqueline Rape

Jacqueline Rape, 89, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, January 15, 2021. She was born November 3, 1931 in Union County, NC daughter of the late Hoyte & Myrtle Forbis Rape. She is also preceded in death by her husband Millon “Bush” Rape, two brothers: Earl Rape, and James “Monk” Rape, and a sister Polly Taylor. Jacqueline is survived by two daughters: Sylvia Rorie, husband Donald, & Kim Broadway husband Chuck, a sister Linda Knull, three grandchildren: Chad Broadway, wife Sarah, Megan McAlister, husband Walker, and Kendall Rorie, four great grandchildren: Atlas Broadway, Vaden Broadway, Kade McAlister, and Easton McAlister. Jacqueline was a devoted wife of 56 years, a loving mother, and a precious “Maw Maw Jack” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful, active lifelong member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church, a passionate hospice volunteer, and a loyal employee for over 30 years at Royal Cleaners in Monroe, NC. She enjoyed a good phone conversation with a friend, finding a bargain shopping at Belk, and the comfort of a glass of cornbread and milk. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Rape will be Lying in State prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm in the Chapel for those to come and pay their respects.
