James Coleman Carnes

James Coleman Carnes, 84, of Monroe, NC, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019. He was born in Union County on November 16, 1934, to the late Coleman and Pearl (Plyler) Carnes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Throneburg Carnes; his step-daughter, Wendy Nguyen; his brother, E. Ray Carnes; and his sisters, Mildred Carnes, Elsie Carnes, and Doris (Dot) Beaver. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Phil McLean, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC. James is survived by his daughter, Joyce Bigham of Monroe; his son, Randy Carnes of Monroe; his step-son, D. Chris Mobley of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Jerry Carnes of Monroe; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
