James “Jim” R. Ellis, 90, of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was born in Union County, NC on April 28, 1935, son to the late Castor Ellis and Myrtle Belk Ellis. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Montgomery Ellis, two brothers, Joe Ellis, Gene Ellis, and three sisters Rhea Belk, Mary Riggins, and Billie Spurlock.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jim is survived by his son, Kevin “Rusty” Russell Ellis, daughter, Jill Belk (Kevin Couick), grandson, Jake Belk (Paige), great grandson, Gunnar Belk, sister, Gladys Autry, and many nieces and nephews.
