James Burkhalter Greenberg

James Burkhalter Greenberg, 77, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021. He is the son of the late John Lee and Ola Mae Underwood. Funeral service for Jim will be 2:00PM Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 2006 Willis Long Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends 6:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Forest Hills Baptist Church. Jim served in the US Army for over six years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired as a truck driver from Iron Peddlers. Jim was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and when he was able he faithfully served his community. He also loved playing guitar and singing at local nursing homes and churches. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanette Williams Greenberg; two sons, Jimmy Greenberg (Leah) of Lancaster and Kenneth Greenberg of Monroe; one daughter, Melissa Dement of Monroe; brother, Ricky Underwood of Texas; and sister, Barbara Underwood of Texas; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
