James Sloan Gulledge

James Sloan Gulledge, 76, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018. He was born in Union County on March 3, 1942, son of the late John Franklin and Sarah Harris Gulledge. He was preceded in death by his brother William Charles Gulledge. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 28 at 3:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC, conducted by Rev. Kenn Hucks. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30PM- 2:45PM. Mr. Gulledge served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He also was a Scout Master for many years. He was a dedicated member of Benton Heights Lions Club, along with being a member of Monroe Bass Masters. He is survived by his wife Vicky Gale Gulledge; one son, Jason Gulledge and wife Jennifer of Waxhaw; one daughter, Katie Edwards of Marshville; one brother, John Franklin Jr. of Laurinburg, NC; five grandchildren, Hannah Beachum, Zachary Wood, Lucas Wood, Austin Gulledge, Ella Gulledge; and four great-grandchildren.
