James "Jim" Thomas Ingram Ii

May 8, 1953 — June 27, 2022

With the saddest and most broken hearts imaginable, the family of James “Jim” Thomas Ingram II, 69, of Monroe, NC, shared that their sweet Jim passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022. He died suddenly and peacefully at 5:30 pm from a heart attack as he sat in his recliner at home.

Born in Lancaster, SC, on May 8, 1953, Jim is the son of the late Odell Hunter and Grace Funk Ingram.

Jim and his wife Luan Cox Ingram would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in July of 2O22. The couple’s children Tripp Ingram and Hunter Wald have lost the best dad anyone could ever dreamed of having, and Luan lost the only man she ever loved.

Jim began his career as a sales rep in the office products industry. In 1985 Jim and his great friend, Ed Neiss, purchased LJR Associates, a manufacturers’ sales representative company for office supplies and products. Jim made many valued lifetime friends and accrued multiple national awards during his more than four decades in the industry.

Jim and his family have been members for 37 years of the Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, where they have enjoyed a vibrant social life. Golf was Jim’s passion. He used the sport to nurture his friendships and spent countless memorable hours golfing with his son Tripp. He especially enjoyed charitable tournaments to support a variety of local causes.

In addition to his devoted and loving wife Luan, Jim is survived by his son James “Tripp” Thomas Ingram III (Audra); daughter Hunter Wald (Steven); three brothers: Richard Ingram, Mike Ingram and Carl Ingram; two sisters: Carol Maulden and Myra Sides; mother-in-law Katherine McGee Cox; two brothers-in-law: Ron Cox and Greg Cox; and three sisters-in-law: Susan Helms, Rebecca Perry and Tamara Baker.

Jim was well loved and loved well. He was a sweet and gentle soul, who was endlessly kind. He wanted everyone to have a good time and loved telling stories and jokes. His favorite things were building a fire on back porch with family and friends, playing with his cats, sharing a cold beer with friends and eating a bowl of ice cream.

A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at his home. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held at a date to be determined.
