James "Jimmy" Griffin

Monroe, NC - James Warren “Jimmy” Griffin, 82, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 in Carolinas Medical Center-Union. He was born in Union County, NC on May 25, 1923 son of the late Ezek and Lula McGill Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a US Army WW II veteran, a member and past master of Masonic Lodge #749 and a retired employee of Bigger Brothers Food Distributors. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 19, 2006 at 3:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Ross Griffin and a brother, Marion “Buster” Griffin. He is survived by son, John Griffin and wife Janice of Monroe, daughter, Barbara Eudy and husband David, of Garden City Beach, SC, sisters, Sarah “Dot” Melton of Charlotte and Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Estridge of Belmont, grandchildren, Robin Eudy Watts and husband Dicky of Heath Springs, SC, Dawn Griffin Lovvorn and husband Rob of Greenwood, SC and Jason Griffin and wife Melissa Sims of Tallahassee, Florida, great grandchildren, Brooke Watts and Lauren and Philip Lovvorn. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe.
