James Henry Lee

James Henry Lee, 69, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012. He was born in Clinton, NC on October 4, 1942 son of Thelma Norris Lee and the late Marshall Henry Lee. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 11:00 until 12:45 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty Booth Lee, son, James H. Jimmy Lee, Jr. and wife April, mother, Thelma Norris Lee, brother, Bobby Lee, sisters, Shirley Hill and Peggy Lee, all of Monroe, Dolly Boyd of Mt. Croghan, SC, and Sue Sutton of Pageland, SC, 3 grandchildren, Jason Lee of Oakboro and David and James Lee, both of Monroe. He was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was active in the Discipleship Sunday school class and various organizations within the church. He proudly served in the N.C. Army National Guard and he retired from Hughes Supply after 45 years of service. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as spending time in his yard mowing and gardening. He loved using his tractor plowing and tilling the land and produced an abundance of fresh vegetables each summer.
