James H. Lewis, 60, originally from Germantown, NY and then Monroe, NC, passed away on August 18, 2016 as the result of a massive stroke. He was the son of the late Albert H. Lewis of Germantown, NY and Jean P. Lewis of Siler City, NC. He is also survived by a brother, Robert (Kathy) Lewis of Monroe, NC and a sister, Alberta (Scott) DeCicco of Siler City, NC. He married the love of his life, Shelley R. Wood, on November 1, 1975. Together they created a wonderful family of two daughters, Allison (Scott) Broadway of Lake Mary, Florida; Jaimee (Brandon) Shaffer of Monroe, NC; and a son, Branden (Caitlin) Lewis of Monroe, NC. He also has 7 grandsons, Scotty, Lucas and Landon Broadway, Andrew and Will Shaffer and Jeremy and James Lewis. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Broadway, to be born in early December. He has many nieces and nephews as well. Jim loved his family, first and foremost, his work as a mechanic, antique cars and car shows and he loved cats. You couldn’t ask for a better, more sincere person to know. There are no funeral services planned, but a memorial service will be held at the Lewis residence, 503 Hunley St., Monroe, NC on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM.
