James Pemberton Melton, 89 died Friday, June 24, 2011. James was born in Union County, NC, May 15, 1922 son of the late Alexander and Carrie Helms Melton. He was a retired employee of Scott Aviation. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2011 at 3:00PM in the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Mr. Melton is survived by his wife Bonnie Lane Melton; sons Larry and Jerry Melton both of Monroe; daughters Shirley Hinson of Monroe, NC and Teena Harris of Conway, SC; brother Dowd Melton of Charlotte, NC; sister Ruth Cagle of Dayton, Ohio; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
