James Robert “Bobby” Parker, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born in Union County, NC on March 20, 1941 son to the late Amos Parker and Arlene Mills Parker. He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Patricia Love Parker, as well as his sister Elease Parker Benton, and great-granddaughter, Wilder Rose Grigston.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Bobby loved people and always had a smile for everyone. He loved Jesus first and his family.

He started working at the age of 16 at the Belk Department Store in downtown Monroe. In 1970 he transferred to the Miami Belk Store as the manager. In 1978, he became manager of Belk in the Monroe Mall when it opened. After his career with Belk, he became a Real Estate Agent.

Bobby is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Parker and Kimberly Parker, four grandchildren, Tiffany McNeely Grigston, Brittany McNeely, Ashton McNeely Davis, and Zachary McNeely; three great-grandchildren, Memphis Parker Grigston, Hudson Alan Mussen, and Lander Rhodes Grigston.

In leiu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hopsice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
