Dateline: Waxhaw, NC Mr. James Steele Helms, 89, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013. He was born in Union County, NC on February 3, 1924, son of the late James and Fannie Steele Helms. Mr. Helms was a WW II US Navy veteran and a retired Celanese Corp. employee. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 9:30 until 10:45 am at Hermon Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Helms is survived by his wife, Sara Culp Helms and sister, Helen H. Griffin of Waxhaw.
