Though she is no longer physically with her family and friends, they rejoice in the remarkable life she led, the extraordinarily loving and accepting example she set, and in leaving them with such wonderful and beautiful memories to keep.
In addition to raising her children, her adult life was full of dedication to volunteer work and serving on multiple committees both in her community and for her church. Among some of the organizations are Union County Symphony (also assisted in the formation of), Health Quest (also assisted in the formation of), Turning Point (also assisted in the formation of), as well as Union Memorial Hospital (now Atrium Health of Union County). She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe. She loved her church and church family. She served on multiple committees over the years, taught Sunday school, chaperoned the Youth Group trips, and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). She was dedicated to the happiness and growth of her church and its loving impact on her committee. In addition to this, she worked for Union Memorial Hospital for almost 30 years…an experience she truly, truly enjoyed. She enjoyed traveling...with trips across the US and several trips to Europe…and annual beach trips with her family. She loved listening to all types of music, enjoyed good conversation, and most importantly loved spending time with her family, and would be remiss not to mention her of love reading and playing bridge.
Jane is survived by her two sons John Austin and Kevin Austin, two daughters Barbara Austin and Lia Dickey, five grandchildren, Dan Austin, Anna A. Harmon, Nick Austin, Wyatt Dickey, and Paige Dickey, and three great-grandchildren.
