Jane (Mangum) Helms

Jane Mangum Helms, 78, of Monroe, NC passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was born November 6, 1939 in Union County, a daughter of the late Parks Mangum Sr. and Elizabeth (Lib) Moore Mangum. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her entire life helping and putting others before herself. She was a member and volunteer at Central United Methodist Church, a long time member of The OES Monroe Chapter and Ladies of the Shrine. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 8, 2017 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112, burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30pm until 1:45pm at Gordon Funeral Service. Mrs. Helms is survived by her loving husband, W. C. (Dub) Helms II, three sons; W.C. Helms III, and Carla Secrest, David Helms, wife Kathy, Steve Helms, wife Angie, all of Monroe, a daughter, Mary Thompson, husband Dale of Monroe, a brother, Parks Mangum of Monroe, a sister, Frances Davis of Charlotte, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
