Janet Sue (Mullis) Griffin

Mrs. Janet Sue Griffin, 65, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, at her residence. She was born July 14, 1949, in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late James Calvin Mullis and Cleo Mullis. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband, Mr. Cecil Franklin Griffin; two sons, Timothy Franklin Griffin and wife, Candice, and Cecil Rodney Griffin, both of Monroe; brother, James Calvin “Jimmy” Mullis, Jr. of Monroe; sister, Brenda Millican of Monroe; five grandchildren, Taylor Lindville and husband, Trent, Colin Griffin, Jared Griffin, Ethan Griffin, and Tristian Casper; and one great-grandchild, Colton Lindville. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Mullis and Jerry Mullis. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM on Monday, May 25, 2015, at Bible Baptist Tabernacle, 2900 Walkup Avenue, Monroe, NC 28110. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM on Monday at Bible Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
