Janet Austin Mangum

Janet Austin Mangum, 82, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 3, 2022, surrounded by her daughters. She was born in Union County on July 1, 1939 daughter of the late Ellis E. Austin and Eunice Lilly Austin. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Paul Hayden Mangum. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Stephen Alan Jones, two brothers, Rubert Austin and Pat Austin, two sisters, Betty Haynes and Frances Heafner. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, February 7, 2022 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. A drop in viewing will be held from 1:00PM until 5:00PM on Sunday, February 6, 2022, where the family may not be present, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Mrs. Mangum is survived by her four daughters, Sandra Mangum Jones, husband Gary, Tamara Mangum Little, Trisha Mangum Carnes , husband Douglas and Paula Mangum Mullis, husband Michael, one brother Dale Austin and one sister Bernice Tomberlin, nine grandchildren, Chris Jones, wife Kathryn, Caroline Fennessy, husband Travis, Emily Jones, Kelly Myers, husband Scott, Madalyn Trudniak, husband Jake, Derrick Carnes, wife Shea, Kristen Blount, Morgan Mullis and Tucker Mullis, ten great-grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way.
