Janet Isabella (Loucks) Stephenson

Janet Wilson Stephenson, 95, of Matthews, NC, went to be with her Lord on September 14, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, Canada, on May 30, 1922, daughter to the late Norman and Nancy Gordon Loucks, and was the sole remaining member of her family of three brothers and one sister. She was married for 37 years to the late Everitt R Wilson, and is survived by their four children, William R Wilson (Kathleen), Larry J Wilson (Kathleen), Nancy R Elwood (Michael), and Marna J Reece (Michel), as well as nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Following Everitt's death, Janet was married for ten years to the late William Stephenson of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and will be missed by his three sons and one daughter. Janet was a secretary for 45 years, and retired at age 65 from her role as secretary to the Dean of Students at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bradenton for 40 years, and moved to North Carolina in 2005 to be near her children. Her favorite activity was walking in the park by her home in Lake Park, until January 2017 when she moved to Brookdale Assisted Living at Weddington Park in Matthews. A memorial service will be held at Sardis Baptist Church, Indian Trail, NC, on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a private burial at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Florida.
