Janice Ann (White) Winchester

With great sadness, the family of Janice Ann White Winchester announce her passing on December 21, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Paul Winchester, the mother of Daryll White and grandmother of Jake and Carly Ann. Janice was born in Harnett County to George and Annie Lee White on September 20, 1946. She was a wonderful cook, a lover of reading, music, fishing and baseball, an avid world traveler, an animal lover, master flower arranger and gardener. Her varied professional life included stints as a department store buyer, a nurse, a medical group manager and finally as a successful developer and manager of medical properties. She was a distinguished Rotarian, a past member of the boards of Community Health Services Inc., the Union County Homeless Shelter, Union Regional Medical Center and Central United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the professionals and staffs of Levine Cancer Center, Duke University Medical Center and Hospice of Union County. We give special thanks to Ms. Joyce McNeely who took such loving care of Janice and her family during this difficult time. There will be a private memorial service after the beginning of the new year. The family requests that memorials be made to the spay/neuter program of the Humane Society of Union County, PO Box 101, Monroe, NC 28111 .
