Mr. Childers, 32, of Charlotte, NC, went home to be with his Lord, September 23, 2003. Jason was born December 21, 1970. He was the youngest son of Don and Marsha Childers of Charlotte. Jason graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1989 and attended East Carolina University. He was an employee of Coats America. Jason had a sweet spirit and gentle soul. Everyone who met Jason was a better person for knowing him. He was a talented and gifted artist. He loved to fish and had a great sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jessica, and his two stepsons, Tyler and Mason, of the home; his brother, Matthew Childers and sister-in-law, Andrea Childers; his beloved nephew and niece, Austin and Kristin of Charlotte; and also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel, Thursday, September 25, 2003 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Jason's life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 737 Woodlawn Road, Charlotte, NC on Friday, September 26, 2003 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Vance E. Hunt officiating. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at Shining Light Baptist Church, Monroe, NC. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
