Jean Catherine Clontz Crook, 97, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at CMC Union. She was born in Union County, NC on January 23, 1920, daughter to the late Issac “Gun” and Helen Jerome Clontz. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends following the service. Ms. Crook was survived by her son, G. Marvin Crook Jr. of Monroe. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Marvin Crook, Sr., brother, Murray Clontz, three sisters, Pauline Griffin, Frances Russell, and Elise Deese. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to be made at Grace United Methodist Church, 3522 Secrest Short Cut Rd, Monroe, NC 28110.
