Jean Craig Dellinger

Jean Craig Dellinger died peacefully on May 18th, 2023, at Brookdale-Weddington Park in Matthews, NC. She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall "Moe" Dellinger, sister Clarinda Craig, and brother John W. Craig, III.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 5th, at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, 302 E Windsor St, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at the church.

Mrs. Dellinger was born January 25th, 1927, in Charlotte, the daughter of Margie Sistare Craig and John Wylie Craig Jr. A lifelong Presbyterian, she attended McQuay Presbyterian Church in Charlotte for over 50 years. After moving to Monroe, she became a member of First Presbyterian Church and was active in the Good Times Senior Group, served on the Bereavement Committee, and was a member of the Joy Women's Circle. She was an original member of the Jubilee Committee, working well into her nineties doing this work that was dear to her heart. She was a recipient of the Presbyterian Women of the Church Lifetime Membership Award at both churches.

Lovingly known as "Mama Jean," Mrs.Dellinger devoted her life to her church and family. She is survived by daughters Karen O'Cain (Charles) of Nebo, Janis Bryant (Bill) of Fairview, and Marsha Ashcraft (Mark) of Weddington; Grandchildren Ashleigh Marshall (Jason), Scot O'Cain, Craig Bryant (Crystal), John Bryant (Mary Beth), Will Bryant (Molly), Mark Ashcraft, Jr, Benjamin Ashcraft, and Thomas Ashcraft (Lexi); Great-grandchildren Kate Marshall, Caleb Marshall, Paige Bryant, and Miller Bryant; Cousin; Lynda Keziah ( Lynn).
