Betty Jean Tarlton Moore, 86, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was born in Union County, NC on December 15, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Glenn Tarlton and Betty Flynn Tarlton. She is preceded in death by her sons, Greg Moore and Marty Moore.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 1, 2023, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service with the burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished time with her family more than anything. “Mawmaw” had a touch of feistiness, adding spice to her character and making her presence unforgettable.

As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life well lived, filled with love, laughter, and precious memories.

Jean is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald “Don” Moore, six grandchildren: Erin Holland (Jamie), Amber Flowers (Nick), Kacey Moore, Victoria Moore, Christian Moore (Maranda), and Rainey Moore, five great-grandchildren: McKenlee Flowers, Emi Kate Moore, Grady Holland, Sawyer Flowers, and Carter Jean Moore.
