Jean Price

Mrs. Jean Hughes Price, 86, died Sunday evening at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Waxhaw, NC. Jean was a native of Union County, NC born December 20, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Pauline Hughes of Union County and Fred Hughes of Albany, GA. She was preceded by Daniel Mack Price, loving husband, Fred Hughes, Jr. loving brother (Edith). Jean was the retired owner of Jean’s Beauty Shop of Waxhaw where she had the opportunity to contribute to many Union County resident’s beauty! She was a member of the last graduating class from the former Jackson School. She graduated with an Associations Degree in Theology from Liberty University and was a lifelong follower of Christ. She contributed many years as both a Sunday school teacher, piano/organist, and choir director at Walkersville Presbyterian Church. Jean gave a lifetime of loving care to her family placing them second only to her relationship with the Lord. Jean is survived by her daughter, Lisa Skipper (Freddie), her son, David Price (Jane), granddaughter Kayla Hasty, grandson Logan Hasty, and great grandson Hayden Miller. The family will receive guests Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 11:00AM at Walkersville Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
